Michelle Wigzell is a rare breed. Analytical skills and creativity do not often emanate from a single source. It’s her ability to deeply consider all consequences of a design project, and to integrate these considerations within a creative solution that sets her apart.”

Frank Marrazza – Imagecorp Pty Ltd

Working with Michelle is always smooth, even with complicated jobs like our annual report.

She makes the effort to understand what we want to achieve, which can sometime be challenging but always leads to a better result. Her feedback is thoughtful and considered and, as a not for profit with limited budgets, we know we will get fresh and impactful designs that work for us.”

Dianne Speakman – Head of Marketing and Communications, WorkVentures

It was an enormous relief to meet Michelle. We were constantly blown away at her capacity to pull together all of our disparate ideas into one completely professional, compelling marketing message! ... we could never have done it without her.”

Lisa Strudwick – The Green Project Manager,
Great Lakes Community Resources

International experience.
Local gravity.

Nous Communications is the sole venture of internationally experienced, locally-grounded, graphic design professional, Michelle Wigzell.

Professional profile

Consolidating on over 15 years in the design industry, Nous Communications is the culmination of Michelle’s enduring vision for elevating the potential, accessibility and practical accountability of graphic design for business, particularly at the local level.

Michelle is a user-centred graphic designer with extensive experience both within Australia and abroad. Since 1994, her professional journey has taken her as far as South Africa, the United Kingdom, Europe, New York and Singapore.

Experience working abroad has honed her ability to work effectively within diverse cultural contexts with localised sensitivity. Complementing a passion for user-centred graphic design, her experience is uniquely marked by the diversity of client industries and user groups she has worked with, and the many areas of design her expertise extends to (from print-based design through to interactives).

"Being a graphic designer is a great job, because in order to do it well you need to become an honorary entrepreneur, product developer or quasi specialist in the many fields clients introduce you to. Following a natural enthusiasm for their opportunities builds a fluency that helps the combined efforts and experience of the working partnership navigate the market more fruitfully."
